Big Boy Bed!

We decided to move Kelvin into a big boys bed.

At bedtime he's been running down the stairs in order to beat Matilda into her bed, where he promptly jumps under the covers and lies down and says "my bed"!

He was very excited. Matilda was also very excited.

Anyway, we got the disused single bed from my mother-in-law's place and set it up today and tonight we tried to get him to sleep in it. The doona cover is a great op-shop find (I love it, so does Kelvin).

It's 9:20pm and I think he may have finally dozed off (after I lay with him for a bit). He's been upstairs about 5 times since bedtime. He is so different to his sister who didn't realise she could get out of her bed until about 12 months after she moved into it - preferring to yell out in the evening and over night for mum or dad to do her bidding!! Matilda didn't sleep at all well in a cot and was into a big girls bed at 23 months and her sleeping and settling improved.

Speaking of Matilda - what about this face? Ask her to smile and this is what I get!!

Ha! Love it. Every photo we have of my nephew up until about 8 has his tongue sticking out!

Jamie and Henry were both into big boy beds before they walked...planned for Jamie, but Henry is so slow in learning to walk that he recently decided on his own to be in a bed...both those two as toddlers never got in and out of bed many times at bedtime. Thomas, who walked before he was shifted to a bed, was in and out and in and out and in and out!! My theory...get them into a bed before they realise they can get out of it!!

That's a big milestone! Great doona cover - I've got to find out which op shops you go to ange!

My biggest fear when trasitioning Ina to the big bed was that the arvo nap would go - and so it did! In the cot she used to protest for about 1 minute before falling asleep (and staying asleep for a couple of hours!).

Griff loves his cot. He's not going anywhere just yet!
